MMA Hot Spots
Sunday, 23 May 2010 14:26

With MMA (mixed martial arts) gaining more and more popularity, various fight leagues (most notably the UFC) have spent millions of dollars on marketing and have world wide fan bases.  Now, with major alcohol sponsors like Bud Light, Casadores Tequila, and Mickey's Malt Liquor supporting these leagues, many bars are capitalizing on fight nights.

ReverseHappyHour.com has scoped the valley and has put together our list of the best places to go and watch the fights.

Number 1:  Versus Sports Grill - Scottsdale

Equiped with over 30 HD TVs, there's not a bad seat in the house!  Throw in cute waitresses "refereeing" the event (and taking your orders) and a slew of promotional girls passing out free shots, you can't go wrong here.

They have 14 beers on tap, a full menu, daily drink specials and fight night cover is only $5!  You can even take your girlfriend here because the food is that good...

Number 2:  American Junkie - Old Town

Good ol' Junkie!  There is something for everyone at this place!

The best part about watching fights here, no cover and afterwards you can stick around because Old Town is always crazy on Saturday nights.

Number 3: The Tavern on Mill - Mill Ave

No cover, 28 TVs, and real people to fight after the fight (oh how we love drunk college kids)!  The Tavern is a fun, classy place to drink any time with a great menu and great specials.

Well fight fans.. did we miss any other major spots???

Native New Yorker locations are excellent for watching the UFC fights. Never a cover, the food is good and the servers are nice. Also, there must be 30+ large screen LCD tv's just in the bar area alone, which means that you can watch the fights from any angle you are sitting at. Go to Native New Yorker to watch the UFC fights. No! Wait! Nevermind. Don't go, because if you do, you'll crowd my favorite place to watch these fights.

VERSUS is an old Native New Yorker! They have better food and a better staff than the Native did for sure!
